O'Reilly Automotive Standardizes On Vocollect Voice-Directed Work Solution

PITTSBURGH (10 January 2004) - Vocollect, the global leader in voice-directed work solutions, today announced an agreement with OReilly Automotive, Inc. (Nasdaq: ORLY), one of the nation’s largest specialty retailers serving the automotive aftermarket, to install Vocollects voice-directed distribution solution in all of its U.S. distribution centers. O’Reilly Automotive will use Vocollects voice-directed solution for picking operations in the Company’s 10 existing distribution centers, as well as its new Atlanta, Ga. facility scheduled to open during the first quarter of 2005. The entire implementation is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2005.

O’Reilly Automotive recognizes that voice-directed technology, when applied in a distribution center, can help the company to extract cost from its supply chain by increasing fulfillment accuracy, boosting productivity and improving safety. The Company decided to implement the Vocollect hands-free, eyes-free voice-directed solution to replace the use of pick labels and pick tickets, thereby reducing errors and increasing velocity within the selection process.

O’Reilly Automotive intends to roll out the Vocollect integrated solution to over 800 distribution team members in the coming year to ensure high service levels to the Companys more than 1,205 retail stores located throughout Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas and Virginia. The Company is planning to consider extending the use of voice into other areas where the efficiency of working “hands-free, eyes-free could positively impact other processes in the future.
